DEATH OF MRS. KATE CAREY IRION.
Special to The Times-Democrat.
Shreveport, July 16. - The remains of Mrs. Kate Carey Irion reached this city to-day in charge of relatives, who are en route for Cheneyville, La., where Mrs. Irion will be laid to rest. On Monday this estimable lady died at Rocky Mount, Bossier parish. She was the daughter of that gallant Confederate soldier, Gen. Leroy Stafford, who was killed at the battle of the Wilderness on May 5, 1864. She married Dr. C. H. Irion, who was a son of A. B. Irion, ex-Congressman from Avoyelles parish. While awaiting the afternoon train the remains were conveyed to the residence of Dr. J. C. Eagan, where they were viewed by many of the Confederate veterans of this city
