Theodore (Ted) Johnson, 62, Black River Falls, died December 1, 1979 at the Veteran's Hospital in Madison.

He was born January 15, 1917 in Blair, Wisconsin, to Iver N and Arntina Eliason Johnson and was reared in the Blair area. He married the former Isla Thompson January 1, 1937 in Decorah, Iowa. The couple lived at Whitehall two years before moving to Black River Falls in 1939.

He was employed as a long distance semi driver for Briggs Transfer and Midwest Haulers before accepting a position as radio dispatcher with the Jackson County Sheriff Department in 1956. He retired in 1971. The World War II Navy veteran was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and a past member of the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Isla; two sons. Allen and Randy of Beloit; two daughters, Donna Bunde of Black River Falls and Sandy Roskos, Merrillan; three brothers, Irvin, Minneapolis, Norman and Donald of Blair; three sisters, Irene Nash, Minneapolis, Berdell Hrabik, Kasson, Minnesota, and Pearl Anderson Denver Colorado and 12 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, twin sons, a sister and a granddaughter.
Services were conducted by Rev Erik Zingelman at the Evangelical Lutheran Church December 4. Burial was at the Riverside Cemetery. Torgerson Funeral Service was in charge of the arrangements.
