From the Wood River Journal, 1-27-1983 Pg 10A Last rites for Robert (Bob) G Baptie, 63, of Muldoon and Acequia, will be held at the Carey Ward LDS Chapel on Saturday, Jan 29, at 2 p.m. His memorial service will be held at McCulloch Funeral Home in Rupert at 2 p.m. on Friday. Mr. Baptie died Jan. 25 in Minidoka Memorial Hospital of cancer. He was born May 1, 1919, in Hagerman, where he was reared and educated. As a young man he was associated with his father at King Hill, in the John Baptie and Sons sheep-raising and ranching business. After his father passed away, the company was dissolved and her "brought his Suffolks to the Muldoon area," where he continued to raise sheep and to ranch. Baptie was married to Velma (Bert) Morgan on Sept. 25, 1965, in Elko, Nev. Together they pursued their occupation, and were always present for the Woolgrowers meetings. Baptie is survived by his wife, at Muldoon and Acequia; his mother, Enid L Baptie, Portland, Ore.; a brother, M. Ray Baptie, Denver, Colo., and a sister, Dorothy Stevens, Lake Oswego, Ore. The family has suggested memorials be made to cancer research, or to the charity of the donor's choice. Bishop Heber Kirkland will officiate for the Carey rites. Mr. Baptie will be interred in Carey Cemetery.
