SOUTH BEND - Adolph W. Thornburgh, 90, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 3:00 a.m. Sunday, July 20, 2008, in Lakeland Community Hospital, Niles, MI. Adolph was born on November 28, 1917, in Toledo, OH, to Orin Kossuth and Emma (Seubert) Thornburgh. He retired as a route driver for the former Torino Baking Company in Chicago, IL.

Survivors include his two daughters, Lynda (Charles) Nix and Evelyn Cole, both of Buchanan, MI; one son, Mark (Linda) Thornburgh of South Bend, IN; six grandchildren, Stephanie and Joseph Thornburgh, Ronald and Orin Cole, Sarah and Andrew Nix.

Preceding him in death were his wife of twenty-five years, Jean; his second wife, Ann; his sister, Evelyn Heck; and his brother, Kenneth Thornburgh.

Adolph enjoyed woodworking and fishing. He attained the rank of Eagle Scout and had worked in the construction of the Alaskan Highway.
