Elmer Carson, 82, of Oneida passed away at the Scott County Nursing Home Monday, Aug. 25, after an illness of two years. He was the son of the late John Carson, Jr. and the late Lucy Ann Chitwood Carson.
He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors are one son, Harold E. Carson of Robbins; one daughter, Anna Louise Carson of Knoxville; two sisters, Mrs. John Lee West of Oneida and Mrs. W. W. Price of Rome, Ga.
Funeral services were conducted from the West Funeral Home Chapel 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, with the Rev. Dale Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Marcum Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Keith Manis, George Harold Sexton, Bailey Cross, Eugene Ellis, Taskel Welch and Johnny Tate. West Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
