MRS. GEO. I. ADAMS FUNERAL SERVICES HELD MONDAY Funeral services were held at Meridian Methodist Church Monday afternoon, Feb. 13, for Mrs. JULIA BLACKMORE ADAMS, age 62 years 7 months and 15 days, wife of GEORGE I. ADAMS, of Austin, who passed away Saturday morning at 4:40 o'clock in an Austin hospital where she had been a patient for the past two and a half months.
The remains were brought to the home of deceased's sister-in-laws, MRS L. A. DUNLAP, here Sunday afternoon, and lay in state at the church from 10 o'clock Monday morning until the funeral hour, 2 o'clock Monday afternoon. A large gathering of friends and relatives attended the impressive services conducted by Rev. Edmund Heinsohn, pastor of the University Methodist Church of Austin, and Rev. H. B. Thompson, pastor of Meridian Methodist Church, Interment was in Meridian Cemetery.
JULIA BLACKMORE was the daughter of JOSEPH A. & MARY LUCINDA BLACKMORE, born, June 16, 1876, in Limestone county, Texas. She came to Meridian from the Union Hill community of Bosque county about 1896, and for several years was a teacher in the Meridian school. A number of her former pupils are now numbered among Meridian's citizenship.
On Feb 28, 1902, she was married to GEO. I. ADAMS, of Meridian. To the union a son and a daughter, were born, GEO. I. ADAMS Jr. and Josephine, now Mrs. Lloyd KING of Amarillo. With her husband and children she continued to make her home in and near Meridian until 1927, when the family moved to Austin when her husband became connected with the General Land Office.
She is survived by her husband; son, GEO. I. ADAMS JR., of Austin; daughter, Mrs. LLOYD KING, of Amarillo; one grandchild, ELAINE KING, four sisters, Mrs. R. H. BUCK, Ft. Worth; Mrs. J. M. HALL, Florence, Ariz.; Mrs. J. R. HAVIS, Roaring Springs, Mrs. ELLEN WILSON, Bisbee, Ariz.; and one brother, ROBT. BLACKMORE, Los Angeles, Calif.
Mrs. ADAMS was an active member of the Meridian Methodist church during her entire residence in Meridian, and upon moving to Austin became affiliated with the University Methodist Church of that city.

They had the following children:

Josephine ADAMS (1909-1984)
