Edward C. Westhoff, 86, died June 12, 2001, at Central Kansas Medical Center, St. Rose Campus in Great Bend, Kansas.

He was born Nov. 14, 1914, at Girard, the son of Charles and Clemmie Nicholas Westhoff.

He married Ina May Herod June 7, 1937, in Walnut. She died Feb. 21, 1999.

A resident of Larned since 1973, coming from Morrowville, he owned and operated Ed Westhoff Dirt Construction. Westhoff was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Larned and
past member of Land and Improvement Contractors Association.

Survivors included seven sons, Fred E. Westhoff of Muskogee, Okla., Earl C. Westhoff and Roy D. Westhoff, both of Great Bend, Larry W. Westhoff of Wichita, Don J. Westhoff of St. John, Gary E. Westhoff of Pratt and Jerry J. Westhoff of Lincoln, Neb.; three daughters, Phyllis J. Wells of Great Bend, Jacqueline Zabokrtsky of Burlingame and Shirley A. Roth of Kansas City, Mo.; two brothers, Otis Westhoff of Lewistown, Mont., and Bernard Westhoff of Lamar, Colo.; three sisters, Barbara Westhoff of St. Paul, Louise Kennedy and Teresa Koester, both of Joplin, Mo.; 31 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, John Westhoff, Sylvester Westhoff and Leonard Westhoff; and two sisters, Marie Hayden and Cecilia Mae Oh's.
