Seven years later they moved to a farm homestead 20 miles north of Ord. Clair finished his education in a country school.

In 1901 he married Melinda "Lynn" Clarissa Lemasters. Five childen were born to this union: Everett, Earl, Norman, Freda Alma(Smith) and Opal (Kelley).

Clair taught school in Valley and Garfield counties for a number of years, teaching during the winter months and farming his homestead during the summer. In 1937, his wife passed away. He then rented his farm and made his home with his sister, Ella Bebee of Burwell. He lived in the same community for 69 years and won the love and respect of all who knew him.

He was the brother of Roy W. Bebee of Garber, OK and Ella M. Bebee of Burwell, NE. and Mary Ethyl Bebee (deceased in early childhood in PA)

Clair died at the Community Memorial Hospital in Burwell, Garfield Co, NE. He lived to age 83 years.
His obituary includes the following tribute: "He was a man of noble character. He loved his family, always spoke well of his friends and neighbors, attended church and gatherings in the neighborhood. He lived in the same community for sixty nine years, and won the love and respect of all who knew him."

Services were at the Assembly of God Church, Burwell, NE on May 5, 1959.

Note: The correct spelling of Clair's name is CLAIR not Claire which is on the tombstone and is an error. I have personal letters signed by Clair.
