My great-grandmother. Daughter of Timothy Martin Edwards and Siothia Jane Carter, both of Adair Co., KY.
She married Robert Henry (R.H.) Goodpasture about 1891, presumably in Hart County since both families lived there. They had at least five children, two died young: Mary Etta (22 Feb 1893-3 Mar 1893, KY) and Arthur David (7 Apr 1896-18 Feb 1900). The three children known to survive to adulthood are: William Robert, born 1894 in KY; Nettie "Leah", born 1902 in Illinois; and Siothia Frances "Fannie", born 1904 in Modena, Mercer Co., Missouri. Robert was a circuit-riding preacher for the Methodist Protestant denomination and church records show he was sent to northwest Missouri in the early 1900s. He returned to Illinois in 1909 as pastor to build a Methodist Protestant Church at Lotus, Champaign Co. Sometime before 1910 he and Effie divorced. She and the three living children returned to her home state of KY.
The 1910 Barren County KY census shows her as the wife of Charlie Parrish, the couple having been married zero years, so presumably newlyweds. They had no children together.
Effie moved to Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY where she remained for many years. She married James Richard Constant, a widower some 30 years her senior, on 3 Dec 1912 in Clarksville, Clark Co., IN. They had no children together.
According to her death certificate, Effie died following surgery at the City Hospital, Center Township, Indianapolis, Marion Co., IN. At the time her son William Robert and his wife Eva were living in Indianapolis. It is believed Effie was still a resident of Louisville, KY at the time of her death, or had relocated to Indianapolis shortly before the surgery. The fact that she is listed in the 1930 Louisville City Directory which came out several months after her death indicates she lived there at the time information was collected for the book.
Effie was taken home to be buried in her native Hart Co., KY near her mother, father and other family members.
