The funeral service for Alice C. Dalberg, 83, Veblen, was held Monday, July 30, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Veblen, with Rev. Harold Watrous officiating. Organist was Karen Hornseth and soloist was Tara Fletcher.

Pallbearers were Matthew Peterson, Bradley Dalberg, Tom Hornseth, Bill Anderson, Gene Osterman, Ron Flannery, Eric Larson, and Roy Fletcher. Honorary pallbearers were all of Alice's grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Interment was in the Veblen Cemetery. Cahill Funeral Chapel of Sisseton, was in charge of arrangements.

She died July 26, 2007, at the Golden Living Center in Groton.

Alice Bilben was born November 5, 1923, near Havana, ND, to Simon and Ingeborg (Wollen) Bilben. She attended country school at Tewaukon Township #4. Following her education she helped her parents on the family farm.

Alice was united in marriage to Ole Dalberg on October 11, 1941, at Veblen. They lived on the family farm until retiring and moving into Veblen.

Alice liked to sew and make quilts and spend time with her grandchildren. She was an active member of Veblen Senior Citizen Center, Eddie Robertson American Legion Auxiliary, and Our Savior Lutheran Church in Veblen, where she did quilting every week.

Ole died in December 1992.

Survivors include her nine children, Mavis (Darwin) Osterman, Sisseton; Ardes (Phillip) Peterson, Milbank; Norman (Kathy) Dalberg, Claire City; Lorraine (Carlton) Fletcher, Clinton, MN; Gail (Keith) Kelly, Sisseton; Beverly (Dennis) Vig, Veblen; Elaine (Brad) Griggs, Milnor, ND; Connie (Kermit) Anderson, Jr., Lidgerwood, ND; and Harold and (Melissa) Dalberg, Claire City; one brother, John Bilben, Moorhead, MN; a son-in-law, Howard Roth, Clinton, MN; two brothers-in-law, Orville Johnson, Moorhead, MN, and Clifford (Irene) Dalberg, Rosholt; 26 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, one son-in-law, three sisters, four brothers.
