Assaulted __1895 by brother-in-law Pleasant Paul Jones, who hit him 3 to 4 times with an iron wedge. P. P. Jones found guilty by jury and fined one dollar and costs.
My grandfather Almon H Jones was 6 months old at the time.

A grandson said that his grandfather (Curtis Butler) kept the clothes that Jim Butler was wearing "inappropriatly displayed at their home for many years".

Place of death was near Leo, Missouri, an early Post Office between Lanton and West Plains. It was the rock house still standing in 2022 near the turn to Tingler Prairie.
