Mr. Nix was born Dec. 20, 1922 in Lindsay, California, to Frank Nix and Eunice Chamberlain Nix. A high school graduate, he served in the U. S. Navy during World War II.
He spent his career as a professional PGA golfer and he was a life member of the PGA. He married Virginia M. DelVecchio Sept. 1, 1940, at the courthouse in Reno.
The family arrived in Carson Valley from Sunnyvale in 1965. He was the original builder of Carson Valley Country Club, which was finished in 1966
He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia, his parents, his sister Connie and brother Leonard.
He is survived by his children, daughters Betty Stodieck and her husband Fredric, of Minden; daughter Lucille Lindsey and her husband Jerry, of Visalia, California; his son Len Nix and wife Paige, of Aptos, California; three granddaughters and four grandsons; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; as well as six nieces and one nephew.
Arrangements are in the care of Walton's Douglas County Mortuary in Minden. The family requests memorial donations be made to the Douglas County Historical Society.
