John Taylor Hardy was the oldest son of Robert and Emily Hyche Hardy. He grew up in the Clay Co., Ms. area and later moved to the Sunflower/Lefore Co., MS area where most of his family had migrated to. In the late forties, when his two brothers had died and his remaining sisters had moved to Houston, TX, he also moved there to be close to family. John never married and had no children. He is buried in the Hollywood Cemetery, in Houston, TX near one of his sisters, Sarah Catherine "Kate" Hardy Thomas.
