Benjamin Stanley Cutchins, Sr., 71, died Friday, July 18 2008 at his residence. He was retired from Union Camp Corporation, a member of Newsoms Baptist Church, and an avid bird hunter. A native of Newsoms, son of the late Thomas Council and Mattie Hall Cutchins, he was predeceased by brothers, Thomas W. Cutchins, Thomas C. Cutchins, Jr., Marvin E. Cutchins, and sisters, Gladys S. Drewry, Ruby O. Flynn, Florrie C. Harrison, and Paige C. Drake. Surviving are four children, Tammy C. Gray (Mickey) of Courtland, Benjamin "Ben" S. Cutchins, Jr. (Cathy) of Newsoms, Mary Jo C. Cox (Paul) of Suffolk, Warren T. Cutchins (Ellen) of Sedley; a brother, Ray L. Cutchins; three sisters, Nell C. Lee, Dorothy C. Davis (Melvin); Mattie C. Bradshaw; nine grandchildren; and former wife, Josephine Cutchins Miles. A graveside service will be held Monday at 3 pm at Hollywood Cemetery. Friends may join the family Sunday from 7 to 8:30 pm at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin. Memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
