Sidney Ray Kelson 1923 ~ 2006

Sidney Ray Kelson, age 83, passed away peacefully at home on October 10, 2006. Born April 5, 1923 in Ephraim, Utah to Sidney L. and Ella Taylor Kelson. On May 8, 1944 he married the love of his life, Veone Mickelsen. They spent 62 wonderful years together. Ray served in the Army during World War II He retired from Kennecott Copper after 32 years of service. He lived a life of hard work but always took time for camping, fishing and spending time at his cabin at Scofield. He was a member of the LDS Church.

He is survived by his loving wife, Veone; his children, Ron (Connie) Kelson, Sandy; Gary (Shauna) Kelson, Riverton; Dave (Wendy) Kelson, Midvale and Kathy (Scott) Stringham, Centerville; 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Henry Dell (Betty) Kelson of Salt Lake.

Preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Aileen Anderson and Roine Gates. Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 13, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Taylorsville 35th Ward, 4505 S. 3420 West. The family will receive friends at a viewing Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 W. 4100 South, and from 9:45 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service on Friday at the Ward. Interment: Redwood Memorial Estates, Taylorsville, Utah.
