MAURICE, Evelyn Anderson, age 84, of Richmond, widow of Charles E. Maurice, died Tuesday, July 15, 2008. Born in North Carolina on August 21, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Robert Luther Anderson and Estelle Catterson Anderson. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ila A. Fugate of Richmond. She is survived by her daughter, Lynn F. Shepherd and her husband, Jack, of Yorktown; her son, Joseph M. Francis of Richmond; three grandchildren, two great-grandsons; her brother, George M. Anderson of Raleigh, N.C.; and her sister, Carolyn Williams and her husband, Leroy, of Mechanicsville. Mrs. Maurice was a graduate of Smithdeal-Massey Business College, and received her B.A. from VCU in Interior Design. She was a member of St. Giles Presbyterian Church and Women Aglow. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, July 18, in Maury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
