LEBANON (Special) Archie Guy Erskine, 66, who came to the Lebanon area half a century ago, died at his home in the Waterloo district where he had lived since1934.
Mr. Erskine was born in Iowa Jan. 27, 1886 and came to Oregon in 1902, settling in the Rock Hill district. Following his graduation from Oregon State college in 1908 he taught school at Rock Hill,
After farming in Canada from 1918 until 1923, he returned to the Erskine homestead at Rock Hill, living there until moving to Waterloo 18 years ago.
He was a member of the First Christian church of Lebanon and the Crowfoot Grange.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lassie Erskine, whom he married in 1947. He had previously been married in 1909 to Estella Lightle of Albany who died in 1935. He also leaves six sons, Archie and Paul Erskine, Albany, Harold and John Erskine, Seattle, Bernell Erskine, Orange, Calif., and Woodrow Erskine, Los Angeles; two daughters, Mrs. Joyce Lambert, Scio and Mrs. Sue Vernon, Lebanon; a sister, Mrs. Minnie Kuentzel and a brother, Minor Erskine, both of British Columbia.
