George was born to Elizabeth Ann Spradling Reynolds and Joshua David Reynolds. George was born back in Tennessee. George was one of eight children born to this family. He told my brother a little about the trip out to Texas. He said that the women got to ride in the wagons when there was room. George said he often felt like he walked all the way to Texas.
Geroge married Mittie Hess after they got out to Grayson County. I know little about that as to how they met or what caused her death. They had six children together before Mittie passed at a young age. George continued on with his life and raising his children by himself. I first remember "Grandad" when he lived with my Auntie in Munday Texas. My aunt and uncle owned an old one pump gas station out west of Munday. This was an old Rock Building that stood there for many years. They live cattycorner acrosss the highway. The house is still there but the station is long gone.
I look back as an old guy myself and wonder why didn't someone ask him about his life. I was young but Grandad and I grew old together before his passing. I just don't understand why I did not ask him about his early life. I am sure there were hundreds of stories inside his mind that died with him.
It seems like there is a lot of history on the rest of his brothers and sisters but very little is known about what George. I don't know I guess he was just busy raising those kids.
