Robert E. Lewis, a retired physicist for Teledyne Inc., died Jan. 4 at Stanford University Hospital in Palo Alto. He was 72.
Mr. Lewis, a native of Missouri, was a resident of Palo Alto for 30 years.
Mrs. Lewis, author of numerous patents and articles, was a member of the Optical Society and the First Baptist Church of Palo Alto.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Woolsey Lewis of Palo Alto; three sons, Donn Lewis and Randy Lewis, both of Palo Alto, and Steven Lewis of Hawaii; a brother, Frank Lewis of Massachusetts; a one grandchild.
Services will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Palo Alto, 305 N. California St., Palo Alto.
