Suggested edit by Rick Dillman (Obit): August Carl Besemer was born in Germany, August 1, 1872, and passed away at his home in Bangor Township, Saturday afternoon, about three o'clock, following a serious illness of several weeks. He was a successful farmer and nearly his entire life had been spent in this vicinity. Surviving are the widow, Marie, and 14 children, Mrs. Mabel Wilson, of Bangor, Roy Besemer, of South Haven; Ralph of Rockford, Mich; Mrs. Louise Curtis, of Covert; and Walter, August, Dorothy, Esther, Christian, Helen, Roselia, William and Robert, at home; two brothers, John, of Jamestown, North Dakota, and Christian Besemer, of Coloma, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Arnt and Mrs. Christian Arnt, both of Coloma; and three grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Sherrod chapel in Bangor, Monday afternoon at two o'clock. Rev. Ausberg, of Kalamazoo, of the Seventh Day Adventist church, of which Mr. Besemer was a member, officiated and burial was made in Emerson Cemetery at Coloma. Bangor Advance October 4, 1934
