John Ryan Death Victim
John E. Ryan, 69, of 66 South Lafayette, native of Valparaiso, died at 5:30 a.m. today, in Porter Memorial hospital after a lingering illness.
The decedent was born in Valparaiso, the son of Martin and Nora (Delahunty) Ryan. He attended St. Paul's Catholic school as a youth and was a member of St. Paul's church.
Since the death of his mother nine years ago, he has cared for his invalid sister, Miss Catherine Ryan, the only survivor with whom he resided.
His parents, and a brother, Thomas, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m., Thursday in St. Paul's Catholic church. Preceding the service will be prayers at Dykes Funeral home at 9 a.m., Thursday.
The Rev. Raymond Derrick will officiate, and burial will be in St. Paul's cemetery.
Friends may call at Dykes Funeral home from Wednesday noon until services. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m., Wednesday, in the funeral home.
