He is survived by his wife of 30 years Epitacia Garcia Costilla of Gregory, Texas; two brothers Guadalupe G. (Yolanda) Costilla of Laredo, Texas, and Pedro G. (Elma) Costilla Jr. of Gregory, Texas; two sisters Maria C. Silvas of Gregory, Texas, and Manuela C. Galvan of Ingleside, Texas; five sons Manuel (Margaret) Costilla of Gregory, Texas, Gilbert (Alicia) Costilla of Stafford, Texas, Carlos (Irma) Costilla Corpus Christi, Texas, Pablo (Elisa) Costilla of Corpus Christi, Texas, Victor Costilla of Gregory, Texas; three daughters Adela Costilla, Connie Costilla, and San Juanita Costilla all of Gregory, Texas; three step-daughters Norma Jean Dominguez of Gregory, Texas, Natalia D. Soliz, and Guadalupe Dominguez both of Corpus Christi, Texas; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation and a rosary service were held on July 15th at the Limbaugh Funeral Home, Portland, TX. A funeral mass was celebrated on July 16th at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Gregory, Texas. Burial followed at San Patricio Memorial Gardens, Portland, TX.
