James W. Meadow, 69, of Pateros, died Sunday, Jan. 3 at the Walla Walla Veterans Hospital after a long illness. Mr. Meadows was born in Clairmore, Oklahoma on June 26, 1895. He came to Pateros in 1927 and married Emma Darlington in Okanogan on Feb. 28, 1929.

He was a World War I veteran and belonged to the American Legion Pose No. 153, the Pateros Grange No. 949, World War I Veterans in Chelan and the Mason Lodge, No. 70 Thompson Falls, Montana. He operated the Pateros Electric for many years before retiring in 1960. Prior to that time he had worked for the county.

Surviving are his widow; one son, William, Pateros; two daughters, Mrs. Charlotte Roberts, Portland, Oregon and Mrs. Darlene Foster, Tonasket, Wash. Two brothers, Ray of Belknap, Montana and Roy of Camas, Washington; two sisters, Mrs. Effie King, Kennewick, Washington and Mrs. Charles Moore, Alberta, Canada and five grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers those wishing to may contribute to the Pateros Cemetery Fund.

Funeral Services For Jim Meadows

Funeral services for Jim Meadows, a long time resident and former business man of Pateros were held from the Pateros Church of Christ on Thursday, Jan. 7th.

Mr. Meadows passed away Jan. 3rd at the Veteran's Hospital in Walla Walla, after long illness. Pallbearers were Leonard Therriault, Art Hall, Olaf Olson, Jim Stone, Tracy Otto and John Countryman. Music was sung by the Church of Christ Choir.

Here for the services were his daughters; Mrs. Charles Roberts, (Charlotte), of Portland, with her little daughter, Susan; and Mrs. Aldred Foster, (Darlene), and her husband, from Tonasket. Also present were his two brothers, Ray, from Belknap, Montana, and Roy from Camas, Wash., Helen Geyer, his cousin, from Cashmere, was here also, together with many of Mrs. Meadows family members.

A dinner for all the family was held after the services at the Grange Hall sponsored by members of the Grange, Alta Rebekah Lodge and the American Legion Auxiliary, assisted by other friends. Mr. Meadow was laid to rest in the Pateros cemetery.
