Pioneer Passes

Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 20 at Braun's Funeral Chapel for Mrs. Elizabeth Clark, 97, a pioneer of the Pateros area, who died Sunday, November 17 at the Cashmere Nursing Home.
John E. Weins officiated the serviced and Mrs. Robert Kent sang, accompanied at the organ by Earl Barnes. Burial followed at the Pateros cemetery with Braun Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Clark was born in Charles City, Iowa, December 1, 1870, and came to Washington in 1889, settling at Reardon. On October 5, 1891, she married William Clark at Sprague and they moved to Pateros.
Mr. Clark died in 1942 and 14 years later, Mrs. Clark moved to Dryden to live with her daughter, Mrs. Glenn Carrel.
Surviving besides Mrs. Carrel are four other daughters, Mrs. Levi Postlewait, Spokane, Mrs. Leonard Dicus, Twisp, Mrs. Ralph Secrest, Santa Marie, Cal., and Mrs. Homer Martin, Seattle; four sons, Earl Clark, Coulee Dam, Alvey Clark, Brewster, Bert Clark, Kirkland, Ariz., and Jake Clark, Wenatchee; 20 grandchildren 35 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren and her sister and brothers, Mrs. William Childs in California and Robert and Jacob Timmons, in Idaho.
Pallbearers were A. R. Lohmas, Selmer Johnson, Don Burke, Ken Lemons, Ernest Massey and Mike Weins.
