MRS. W. B. ALLRED LOCAL PIONEER DIES

One of the Wapello County pioneer women, Mrs. W.B. Allred, 84, died today at the Treanor Nursing Home, 301 North Moore Street, where she had been a resident for the past two and a half years. Prior to entering the nursing home; she had resided for 65 years on the old home place; five miles southwest of Ottumwa. Her husband died in January of 1942.

Surviving are four sons: Malverne of Olath, Colo., and Lee,Charles and Everette of Ottumwa. A daughter preceded her in death in 1942. Also surviving are two sisters; Mrs. Dollie Longshie of Kansas City, MO., and Mrs. Alvira Alderdice of Ottumwa, and a brother Evan Crane of Anita, Iowa. Three sisters, a brother and her husband preceded her in death. Other survivors include seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. at the Community funeral chapel in charge of the Rev. E.L. Frost; pastor of the Davis Street Christian church. Burial will be at Shaul Cemetery.
