HEALDTON Graveside services for Oscar P. Powell, 91, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005, at Mount Olive Cemetery in Healdton.

Born Dec. 18, 1914, in Waylan, Texas, to John W. and Mary Ida Worley Powell, he died Dec. 29, 2005, in Healdton.

He married Margaret I. Gandy on Jan. 15, 1940, in Palo Pinto, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife on June 25, 1996; his parents, four brothers and two sister.

Oscar retired from Lone Star Gas Company in 1972, then worked as a self-employed pipeline inspector with Signal Oil and Gas Company. Oscar served several years on the Fox school board, was a member of First United Methodist Church and a 32nd degree Mason.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John H. and D.D. Powell, Seminole; a daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Clay Harris, London, England; five grandchildren, Brandon Powell, Houston Harris, Jacquelin Harris, Nikki Powell and Shane Powell; and a great-granddaughter, Angela Harris. Honorary bearers will be Clay Harris, Houston Harris, Brandon Powell, Shane Powell, John Adams and Chan Ray.
