Ida Jane Downey, 75, LaPorte, died at 10:27 p.m. May 16, 2001, in St. Anthony Memorial Hospital, Michigan City, Indiana.
Mrs. Downey was a homemaker and lived in Crete, Illinois before moving to LaPorte 17 years ago.
She was born January 24, 1926, in Stockwell, Indiana. She married William J. Downey on September 22, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois and he survives.
Also surviving are a son, Michael W. Downey; two sisters, Martha E. Flora of Frankfort and Winifred E. Conlon of LaPorte; three grandchildren; a niece and two nephews.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Essing Funeral Home, LaPorte, with the Rev. Doug Hadley officiating.
Burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery.
