Pioneer Fallbrook
Resident Dies At
Hospital Here
Mrs. Ellie Pittman Fallis, 87, a Fallbrook resident for more than 60 years, died Friday night at Palomar Memorial Hospital in Escondido. She had been confined to the hospital only eight days, but her health had been failing for several years.
She was born Feb. 14, 1864, in Thomasville, Ga.
Mrs. Fallis has been a member of the Fallbrook Baptist church for more than 60 years. She and her late husband, Frank, purchased the original tower bell for the church building.
Survivors include a son, Harry P. Fallis, of San Anselmo; a daughter, Mrs. Cora F. Russell, of Oakland; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday from the chapel of the Berry-Bell Mortuary in Fallbrook with the Carl G. Palm mortuary of Escondido in charge of the rites. Rev. Eugene L. Alger of Fallbrook officiated. Interment was in the Fallbrook Odd Fellows cemetery beside the body of her husband who passed away March 15, 1930.
