Died at Evangelical Hospital where he had been a patient for two days. He had been in failing health for eight months.

He grew up in Marshall Co., and was educated in the Rhodes schools. He & his wife farmed near State Center until his health forced him to retire in November of 1964.
He was a member of the Methodist Church and was a lay leader and Sunday School teacher for years.
