Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Faith Lutheran Church, Moline, where he was a member. Burial is in National Cemetery, where military graveside services will be conducted by Moline American Legion Post 246.
Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Esterdahl Mortuary Ltd., Moline. Memorials may be made to the church or The American Lung Association.
He was born Feb. 21, 1933, in Moline, the son of Raymond F. and Helen E. Peterson Anderson. He married Verna M. Lindquist June 20, 1964, in Moline.
He retired in 1991 from John Deere Harvester in East Moline where he had worked as a machinist for 37 years.
He was an Army veteran. He was a member of Opheim American Legion Post 1077, UAW Local 865, East Moline, and a former member of Moline Dad's Club. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and sports.
Survivors include his wife; daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Craig Davisson, Juneau, Alaska, Lisa Anderson, Nokomis, Fla., Lori and Steve Hughes, Davenport, and Angie Anderson, Moline; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Debra Anderson, Colleyville, Texas, and Douglas and Revilee Anderson, Plainfield, Ill.; grandchildren, Sara and John Anderson, Colleyville, Katie and Jackie Rhodes, Juneau, and Zachary Hughes, Davenport; and his special friend, BJ. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Anderson.
