Daniel J. Furtaw, 79, formerly of Central Square, died Friday, July 11, 2008, at the VA hospital in Syracuse. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he resided in New Jersey before moving to Central Square 22 years ago.
Daniel worked at IBM before retiring from GE as an electronics technician. He was a ham radio operator.
Daniel is survived by a son, Douglas of Saranac Lake; two daughters, Diane Haugen of Leyton, Utah, and Debra Williams of Hastings; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Paul, Richard and Robert; and three sisters,Elizabeth Harned, Judy Cushman and Mary Malloy.
Calling Hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at WATSON FUNERAL HOME, INC., 631 S. Main St., Central Square, NY.
A funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Thursday July 17, 2008, at at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Central Square. Burial with military honors will take place in Hillside Cemetery, Central Square, following the Mass.
