Marion Green Bray, 93 years of age, of Somerset, Kentucky, departed this life on Tuesday, May 7th, 1968 at the Friendship House in Danville, Kentucky following an illness of two months.
Marion was born in Somerset, Kentucky on November 4th, 1874, son of the late William and Mary Hicks Bray. He was a retired railroad employee, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Marion was survived by his two sons, Johnnie Green "John" Bray of West Somerset, Kentucky and George E. Bray of Somerset, Kentucky; one step-son, William Lee Thompson of Farristown, Kentucky; one sister, Ellen Goesberry of Frazer, Kentucky; and a host of other family and friends who mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Bray and Mary Hicks Bray; his wife, Mary Ann Thompson Bray, whom he married in 1908 in Somerset, Kentucky and who departed this life on March 27th, 1948; one step-son, Luther "Estle" Thompson; and one step-daughter, Lavada Thompson Rogers, who departed this life on December 28th, 1937.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 9th, 1968 in the Chapel of the Denney-Murrell-Correll Funeral Home with Rev. Walter C. Mauldin officiating.
Burial followed in the Tateville Cemetery.
