Helen Regina "Jean" Smith, 81, 220 Newry St., Hollidaysburg, formerly of Altoona, died Sunday morning at Altoona Regional Health System, Altoona Hospital Campus, after a brief illness. She was born in Harrisburg, daughter of the late William and Anne Marie Heit McMullen. She married Coy R. Smith Jr. Sept. 27, 1947, in Altoona. He died April 6, 1987. Surviving are two sons: a daughter; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.She was preceded in death by a daughter, Catherine Gail Longstreth. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Smith was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Altoona. She was a high school graduate and a volunteer for Relay For Life and the I Can Cope group at Altoona Hospital Campus.She enjoyed crafts, sewing and knitting.
