Born in Brookland, Raymond lived in Indiana but most of his life he lived in Jonesboro. He worked 23 years for Crane Corporation, and he also worked at Colson and Lincoln Manufacturing before retiring from Tobacco Sales in Jonesboro.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of W.W. II and a member of University Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. Raymond was preceded in death by his first wife, Rhosialee Gray; by 2 brothers: Eugene and Jimmy Gray; and by 3 sisters: Betty Slayden, Lillian Arnold and Viola Shipman.
Survivors include: His wife: Dorothy Gray of the home;
2 Sons and Daughters-in-law: Leon and Libby Gray of Little Rock, and Dr. Brian and Renita Gray of Jonesboro;
2 Daughters and Sons-in-law: Patricia and William King, and Linda and Bob Cater, all of Jonesboro;
1 Brother: Jewel Gray of Michigan City, Indiana;
1 Sister: Irene Goude of Newport;
5 Grandchildren: Eric Gray, Melissa Lynch, Seth Gray, Wendy Alexander and Angie Weston; and
Several Great Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:30 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Mike Blackwood officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Log Cemetery.
