He filed a claim on 5 June 1786 with the British government for L270 as he was deprived of his position of Deputy Sheriff. He claimed L180 as loss from his job rated at L20 per year for 9 years; L40 as money extorted from him (? Tax or fine); and L50 for unpaid services and time on behalf of the Crown. The claim was witnessed by Captain Aaron Wright, John Baker and Jonathan Dwight.
