Virginia Lucille Dial, 82, of Tiptonville, died Thursday, July 3, 2008 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

She was the retired owner of Crosstown Grocery, a member of WMU, and librarian at Tiptonville Public Library for 10 years.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Tiptonville, where she was a member, with the Rev. Steve Carr officiating. Burial will be in Lake Memorial Gardens. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include a daughter, Carol Ann Todd and husband, Guyland, of Tiptonville; two grandchildren, Lori DeShields and husband, Rick, and Anthony "Bubba" Todd and wife, Dawn; and three great-grandchildren, Lynnsey Park, Heather DeShields and Brandon DeShields.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Dial, and a brother, Ernest Lee Wray.

Pallbearers will be Murphy Dial, Dalton Dial, Rick DeShields, Eugene Dial, Bubba Todd and Jerry Dial.

The family requests that any memorials be directed to the First Baptist Church Youth Fund or the Margaret Newton Scholarship Fund.
