DIMMITT - Ollie Lane, 97, died Saturday, July 5, 2008.

Celebration of Life Service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Colonial Funeral Home Chapel in Dimmitt with the Rev. Butch Rains officiating. Burial will be at West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Dimmitt.

Ollie was born Aug. 21, 1910, in Wetumka, Okla., to Charlie and Minnie Haywood. On Oct. 2, 1926, she married Sam Lane in Holdenville, Okla. In 1953, they moved to Dimmitt from Littlefield.

Mrs. Lane was a homemaker most of her life. She delivered Meals on Wheels until the age of 80. She was also a baby sitter for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband on July 17, 1991; two sisters; seven brothers; and a son.

Survivors include two sons, Billy Don Lane of Lubbock and Charlie Lane of Dimmitt; three daughters, Sammie Schumacher of Hereford, Frances Lane Gatz of Midwest City, Okla., and Rosa Nell Rains of Monahans; a daughter-in-law, Billie Spruiel Lane of New Home; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 33 great-great-grandchildren; and a great-great-great-grandchild.

Family visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
