He was born Sept. 19, 1924, to Joseph and Bertha (Pratt) Bequette at Blackwell, Mo., where he was raised and educated. Following his schooling, he worked for the forest industry.
Mr. Bequette served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1943 until his honorable discharge in 1946 at which time he made his residence in Spokane where he went to work for Kaiser Aluminum.
Jerry married Esther Miller on Aug. 20, 1966, at Missoula, Mont., and they resided in Spokane.
He was a member of the Steelworkers Union and a former member of the Spokane Moose Lodge.
Upon his retirement in 1980 the family moved to Rock Island.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; two daughters, Charlotte Ratterree and Marlene Humphreys, both of Sparks, Nev.; one son, David Bequette of Winnemuca, Nev.; one stepson, Gary Miller of Hawaii; three stepdaughters, Renee Penman of Auburn, Myla Kennedy of Rock Island and Kathleen Clarno of Spokane; one sister, Evelyn Thomas of Kansas City, Mo.; two brothers, Joseph of Blackwell, Mo., and Milton of Iowa; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
