During some of the time period covered in her son G.L.'s book the family lived at the McNeely Place among the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains on the banks of the Chattehoochee River. Later they lived in Albertville, Alabama and Mt Vernon. The family was always grateful to the people of Mt. Vernon who nursed them through Typhoid fever.
Eventually they moved to Colfax, Texas.
