Howard Dale Bibbee, 85, of Vienna passed away Monday, March 19, 2007, at Eagle Pointe Nursing Home.
He was born Oct. 8, 1921, in Glen Ferris, W.Va., a son of the late Carl D. and Dora Barnhouse Bibbee. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, retired with over 30 years of service from Johns Manville and was a member of the 36th Street Church of Christ in Vienna.
Dale is survived by his wife, Betty Conger Bibbee; one daughter, Sharon Nonamaker (Ronald) of Vienna; four brothers, Charles E. Bibbee (Mary) of Parkersburg, Harold W. Bibbee (Ruby) of Oak Ridge, Tenn., Donald C. Bibbee (Carol) of Vienna and Bernard L. Bibbee (Pat) of Walker, W.Va.; three sisters, Maxine Alleman of Vienna, Wilma Ault (Vernon) of Marietta and Wanda Darnold (Daniel) of Parkersburg; one stepdaughter, Carol Floyd of Maryville, Tenn.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Vera Jackson Bibbee in 1998; one brother, James R. and sister-in-law, Murl Bibbee; and one infant sister.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, with Tom Butterfield and Mark Mason officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, Williamstown. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
