"Born September 27, 1939, in Little Kansas, Okla., to Ruth and Charles Foster, he was the fourth of six children. The family lived in Oklahoma until moving to Richland, Wash., in 1944. Tbey resided in Richland for approximately one year and then returned to Arkansas. In 1947, the Foster family returned to Washington and lived in Benton City.

After graduating from Benton City High School in 1957, he joined the United States Navy and served from November 1957, and was discharged in December 1961.

While stationed in Guam, he met Patricia Borja Taitingfong. They married in Lewiston, Idaho, in 1962, and settled in Benton City to raise their three children. In 1978, after the children had grown, they then moved to Grove.

He was a farmer until retiring at the age of 23 from injuries received while serving in the military.

He was a Disabled American Veteran and served as the Commander of the Disabled American Veterans for nine years. He was also a longtime member of the Hickory Church in Grove.

Our beloved husband, father and friend, loved gardening, fishing and serving the Lord. . . .

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 18, at the Hickory Church in Grove. Burial will be in Leach, Okla.

Arrangements are under the direction of Turner Funeral Chapel in Grove."
