David Taft Bumgarner, 93, of Lenoir, died Monday, July 21, 2003, at Caldwell County Hospice.
He was born August 20, 1909 in Lincoln County to the late Paul K. and Bessie Clark Bumgarner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Bumgarner; and two sisters, Sarah Paul Bumgarner and Wier and Dicie Rose.
Mr. Bumgarner was a retired firefighter with the city of Lenoir and a member of College Avenue Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mrs. Margaret Clonigner Bumgarner of the home; a son, Bob T. Bumgarner of Boone; a daughter Mrs. Bill (Betty) Williams of Lenoir; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Park
