Alice was the 2nd child (and daughter) born to John Sampson Hacking and Mary Elizabeth Hall Hacking. She first married Ezra Thurman Merkley on the 15 November 1913 in Vernal. They had three children: Lorna, Lawrence Nelson, and Eunice. When Eunice was in her first year, Ezra died on 18 January 1919. On 8 December 1920, Alice married Wilson Murray. He helped her raise her young children, and some records list him as the father of her children. However, I am unsure if they were legally adopted.
