Rueben P. "Can" Creekmore, 81 years 7 months and 9 days of age, of Williansburg, Kentucky, departed this life at 6:10 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4th, 1972 at the Southeastern Kentucky Baptist Hospital in Corbin.
Can was born at Jellico Creek in Whitley County, Kentucky on Tuesday, August 26th, 1890, son of the late Horace Maynard Creekmore and Amanda Davis Creekmore. He was a World War I, United States Army Veteran. Can worked has a coal miner for many years.
Can was survived by his wife; Flara Mae Perkins Creekmore; one brother, Everett Creekmore: several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends who mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace Maynard Creekmore, who departed this life on January 10th, 1954 and Amanda Creekmore, who departed this life on January 21st, 1936; two brothers, John Andrew Creekmore and William McKinley Creekmore; and three sisters, Bertha Hart, Ida Moore, and Laura Ulrich.
Visitations were held from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 7th, 1972 at the Ellison Funeral Home in Williamsburg, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 7th, 1972 in the Chapel of the Ellison Funeral Home with Rev. Lee Willis and Rev. General F. Hicks officiating.
Burial was in the Faulkner Cemetery in Verne, Kentucky.
