Our lovely mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Helene Pearl Jacobs Bullen, age 92, "a very classy lady" died Tuesday, March 13, 1990, of heart failure.She was born April 1, 1897 in Rexburg, Idaho to Eleanora Flamm and John Jacobs. Graduate of the Utah State University in education. Married Bryant Bullen in Logan, Utah on October 10, 1922. He passed away after only nine years of marriage. Helene had also lost her first infant daughter, Patricia. She raised and supported her only son, Bryant Jacobs, working for the Utah State government and then moving to Washington D.C., where she worked for the Department of Agriculture for 22 years. After retiring at age 70, she
returned to Salt Lake City where she was an active volunteer with the Multiple Sclerosis Society for many years and active in several guilds including Symphony Guild. She was a great lover of the Arts, especially the symphony which she attended until she was 86 years old, driving herself and many friends.She is survived by her son, Bryant and daughter-in-law, Beatrice, and five grandchildren, Thomas Bullen, Gaithersburg, Maryland; Ted Bullen, Brunswick, Ohio; Diane Larsen, Jill Crosland, and Pamela Bullen, all of Salt Lake City; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bernice Manwaring, Falls Church, Virginia; and Louise Medford of Visalia, California. A viewing will be held at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple on Friday evening, 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. Graveside services for immediate family members will be held at the Logan City Cemetery on Saturday, March 17th at
10 a.m.
