Elijah was the son of Thomas Hutson Lowe and Nancy Ann Shelton.
He married to Mary C. DeAtley.
They appear in the 1900 census of Sprigg Township, Adams County, Ohio, with 3 children and one grandchild. Elijah was a pensioner.
Headstone in Sprigg Cemetery is marked Elijah Lowe Co. H. 182 Ohio Infantry. The stone is a government issue Civil War Veteran Military headstone. Also buried in the cemetery between Elijah and his son Byington is a Henry A. Lowe.
Elijah appears in the 1900 census of Adams County, Ohio.
His widow applied for a Civil War pension on February 14, 1918.
