Richard Finley Ballenger, 81, of Columbia died January 26, 1983 at Columbia Regional Hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Parker's Chapel, Tenth and Walnut streets, with the Rev. Michael Crouch officiating. Burial will be in Columbia Cemetery. Visitation is from 7 to 9 tonight at Parker's

Ballenger was born August 15, 1901, in Boone County to William Beal and Mary Ann Fenley Ballenger. He lived his entire life in Boone County on the family farm northeast of Columbia before moving to Columbia four years ago.

He is survived by a brother, J. Ralph Ballenger of Columbia; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Grace Ballenger, of Columbia; one niece; and three nephews.
