About 1857 Jane married Anphaxton Dawson, who was hanged in 1862 in Cooke Co., Texas. Mr. Dawson was hanged as a northern sympthasizer , as were quite a few others at that time. (Great Hanging at Gainsville, Cooke County, Texas.) They had a son, A. R Dawson and two daughters; America Jane Dawson Murphy and Parthenia T. Dawson Wills Futrell.
In 25 Jan 1864,she married Creed T. Walthall in Sherman, Grayson County, Texas. Mr. Walthall was a widower with 8 children of his own. They had two sons, Thomas and Milton Walthall.
