The lovely must depart,
Now may the hearts of those who
love, dwell on her, and dare to hope again;
the spring's rich promise hath been given in vain
She has gone to the grave as tenderly loved
As any that ever from earth were removed.
And when the last loud trump shall be given,
O, may we be ready to meet her in heaven.
