Dora M. Showalter, 84, of Moline, died June 29, 2008 at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island. Services were at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline, IL. Burial was in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to Niabi Zoo. Dora was born July 26, 1923 in Moline to Horace and Beulah (Sewell) Bolender. She married William Wirt in 1940 in Moline. She married Charles Reese, Jr. in 1950 in Moline. He preceded her in death in September of 1987. She later married Robert Showalter in May of 1989 in Long Grove, IA He preceded her in death in January of 1995. Dora bartended at the Moline V.F.W. and later she bartended at Beanies for twenty years. She and her husband later bought Beanie's and renamed it Dorie and Chuck's. Dora was a member of Cornerstone Christian Fellowship. She was also a lifetime member of Moline V.F. W. Auxiliary. She was also a member of Friends Circle Club and Moline Viking Club. She was on a shuffleboard team at the Wonder Y. She enjoyed playing Uno, Euchre and cards in general.
